His horror script “The Obsidian Caravan” is the tale of a strongman who makes a Faustian bargain to ensnare a forbidden love, but at its core it is a story critiquing the rigors of male body image. He strives to incorporate that belief into his own writing. Cody discovered that horror is therapy you don’t need insurance for. Maybe that’s why a kid who grew up in a small town outside of Syracuse NY, surrounded by nothing but peaceful cornfields, sought to explore stories that are better off relegated to nightmares. Okay, that last part didn’t really happen, but what a twist huh? Horror is all about the distortion of what is expected, it is terrifying commentary on the darkest aspects of the human condition.
